Order for Supply of 2 Units of HiMSEN Engines

In October 2022, HHI-EMD signed a contract with Cimontubo, Portugal to supply two diesel generator sets (6H32/40). In April 2022, Cimontubo received the order from EDA (Electricidade dos Açores), the electricity utilities company of Azores Islands, to build the 5.8MW Engine Power Plant in Faial Island, Portugal and HHI-EMD was selected as the final winner by satisfying EDA’s various requirements and European environment & safety standards.The new gensets will replace the obsolete gensets in the Faial Island within the Azores Islands located 1,700km from mainland Portugal and provide stable electricity to 14,000 residents and tourists. HHI-EMD’s gensets will be delivered in September 2023.This Contract marks the first contract to supply Hyundai Heavy Industries' engines to Portugal, and HHI-EMD expects to further develop obsolete genset replacement projects in nearby islands and expand its presence in Europe by closely cooperating with European EPC companies.
